Nexus by Ramez Naam
Ananda smiled. “I’m glad to hear that. Because it can be tempting to hoard knowledge, to use it as a way to gain advantage over others. But if we seek to serve our fellow man, we must spread the things we learn as far and wide as possible. To empower the downtrodden, we must put knowledge in their hands.” – Excerpt from Nexus by Ramez Naam
I cruised through Nexus, this engaging and exploratory futuristic technological novel is a winner. Ramez proposing crucial questions while blending insightful eternal wisdom with humanity’s continual development of technology. Where will we be headed in the near future? What does it mean to be human and what might we choose to become through applied knowledge? How do we organize or coexist with one another? Important questions that deserve attention.
Nexus is an NPR Best Book of the Year – Winner of the Prometheus Award – Winner of the Endeavour Award!
I do hope the individuals that are deep in the development and discovery process of futuristic technologies, those shaping our lives, read this book and are influenced by the sentiments it holds.
Ramez Naam was recently introduced to me through a podcast episode on The Disruptors (I recommend checking that podcast out also!). His efforts and commitment to global health and well-being of its inhabitants is admirable and appreciated.
You can find Nexus on Amazon or on Ramez’s website. Nexus is the first book in the trilogy, offering a continued reading opportunity that I will be taking advantage of.
